3 Day 'Rigging for the Entertainment Industry' Course

The internationally renowned course that has been delivered at least 800 times since 1998, all over the world. 3 days of intensive practical rigging training on a purpose built steel structure.

The course includes:

Legislation including risk assessment

LOLER 1998 and the Work at Height Regulations 2005

Principles of lifting
-
Safe systems of work
-
Work at height using Personal Fall Protection Systems

Pre-use checks to PFPS
-
Basic rigging and ropework, the ‘open basket’ and choke hitches
-
Marking out
-
Rigging motors with steels, roundslings, shackles, O rings, clutch chains and STAC
-
Using electric chain hoists
-
Using trusses correctly as simple spans and in a box configuration
-
Simple load calculations for slings and trusses
-
Terminating steel wire ropes
-
Secondary suspensions, theory and practice
-
Pre-use checks of lifting equipment
On completion candidates will have:

Course notes and additional printed information

A numbered certificate of attendance relating to the syllabus completed

A personal record of training
-
An appreciation of their legal duties
-
A basic knowledge of how to use equipment safely in slinging and entertainment industry lifting operations

An understanding of the principles of working at height using personal fall protection systems
-
We provide everything required except work clothes and footwear.

Courses are priced at £785 + VAT and run over 3 consecutive days from 10am - 5pm at our premises in Birmingham
If you are booking on behalf of a business, we are happy to accept payment on account, please contact training@outbackrigging.com.
Places will only be reserved upon receipt of a Purchase Order, at which point an immediate payment invoice will also be issued.
Cleared payment must be recieved at least 28 days prior to the course start date, or your place may be offered to somebody else.

Course fees do not include accommodation or meals.

We cannot take responsibility for cancellations caused by events outside our control and may postpone or cancel a course if necessary. This includes matters including, but not limited to - low enrolment, trainer illness, pandemic, strike action, severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

To ensure quality we limit the trainer to student ratio to 1:6 on this course.
