Training Terms and Conditions
1. Booking a Course
By completing our online booking form (or submitting your purchase order or written instruction) you are reserving a place on a training course provided by Outback Rigging Ltd. Payment terms apply as set out below.
2. Payment
Invoices for all training courses will be issued in advance. If your invoice is issued at least 28 days before the course date, payment must be received no less than 28 days prior to the start of the course. If an invoice is issued within 28 days of the course date, payment must be received at least seven (7) days before the course begins.
- Payment may be made by bank transfer (BACS/CHAPS) or by credit/debit card online or over the phone (fees may apply for card payments). Failure to pay by the due date may result in your place being offered to another participant.
3. Cancellation and Postponement
Outback Rigging Ltd reserves the right to cancel or postpone any course if event-specific conditions cannot be met (for example, insufficient enrolments, trainer unavailability or unforeseen operational issues). We cannot accept liability for cancellations arising from circumstances outside our control (including industrial action, severe weather or virus outbreak).
- If you cancel your booking within 28 days of the scheduled course start date, we are unable to refund the fee. Should you wish to postpone your attendance, a single transfer of your booking to the next available course date may be permitted, subject to class availability and notice.
4. Scope and Legal Compliance
Our training may assist employers and self-employed persons in fulfilling their obligations to provide “such information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety at work of their employees”. However, attending a course with Outback Rigging Ltd does not by itself discharge all statutory obligations. You must ensure that the course content is appropriate for your business’s requirements.
- Courses are not designed to confer formal “competent person” status (unless explicitly stated) or act as a certification of full competence for specific work activities.
- We treat all participants equally, regardless of age, gender, marital or parental status, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, cultural background or nationality.
- Training and materials are delivered in English. If you require an interpreter or translations, this may be possible given sufficient notice and additional cost.
The only qualifications for entertainment rigging (as defined by the National Rigging Advisory Group) in the UK is the National Rigging Certificate awarded by PLASA. Visit PLASA website for details of the National Rigging Certificate assessment scheme.
5. Other
